Solar PV Fire Inspector Training & Fire Code Compliance Training - HOUSTON

Join us to learn about applicable fire codes and methods for implementing code requirements in residential and commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Topics to be covered include: 

  • Safety Labeling for Firefighters
  • Firefighter Concerns
  • Inspecting Systems for Code Compliance
  • Changes Coming in the 2017 National Electric Code

Visual displays include: Solar panel(s), string inverter, micro-inverter, a fully operational example of a solar electric system including electric meters to display “consumed” as well as “back-fed” power. Fused disconnects. Rapid disconnect hardware. Examples of labels and properly labeled solar electric system components. Racking and mounts.

Trainer Biography: Dan Lepinski, PSC is a leading expert in the solar energy industry. Mr. Lepinski has over 40 years of experience designing solar PV systems and equipment. He serves on the UL Standards Technical Panel, the Solar Industry Task Force that interfaces with the National Fire Protection Association, and the Solar America Board for Codes and Standards. Mr. Lepinski has taught a variety of audiences and consulted on a variety of subjects and client projects pertaining to Solar PV.
