Six cities in North Central Texas have been awarded a SolSmart designation. The Cities of Cedar Hill, Corinth, and Denton have received a Gold SolSmart Designation, the City of Kennedale has received a Silver SolSmart Designation, and the Cities of Plano and Lewisville have received a Bronze SolSmart designation. The North Central Texas Council of Governments has also been awarded a regional Bronze SolSmart designation. See the map below for more information.
The Department of Energy has set a goal designating a total of 1,000 communities by 2027. In addition, the North Central Texas Council of Governments has a regional goal to designate 10 more communities within the North Central Texas region.
